"Adult beverage" - a can of Newcastle Brown Ale.

Better when in a bottle, then nicknamed "a bottle of dog", but Newcastle Brown Ale nonetheless.

Oh, to have a pound (or a couple of dollars) for all the bottles of dog I drank during the 3 years I was at 'uni' there!! Happy times ............ happy times indeed

Ha--love that stuff, TW! When visiting London or the Emerald Isle, it's one of the things I REALLY enjoy: eating and drinking in small town pubs where you can find draft versions of it and all the others (esp bitters and browns)...While driving around sight-seeing with the missy, we stop for something late morning (brunch), prelunch-brunch, lunch-lunch, post lunch snack, late lunch dinner planning snack, and then early afternoon pre-dinner, early dinner, well you get the idea (does slow my road trips down, which is usu a good idea considering how NARROW your roads are!?!). I love being able to do it Australia to some extent but the towns are farther and further between there(where I visit more often due to my work with creepy crawlies....).

during those happy times, I aligned myself with some guys who were into Kaliedoscope ("A Beacon From Mars" - Chris Darrow, David Lindley, et al) and they used to invent clubs and organise trips round Scottish & Newcastle Breweries e.g. Newcastle University Knitting Club, Newcastle University Morris Dancing Club, Newcastle University Friends of Kaliedoscope Club, etc., It was hard work trying not to yawn as they showed us round and explained the brewing process once again but, oh boy, we soon woke up once we got to the sampling room !!!
"err, excuse me, you look familiar, didn't you visit last week (and the week before and the week before)?

The cream (no, not THAT cream) was Newcastle Exhibition - draft paradise in a glass ..........
